Mail Forwarding and Online Shopping

I have been using Mailbox Forwarding for over 9 years (while domiciled in California and now domiciling in Nevada) and have never had a problem with their services. Neither has the DMV of Nevada or California.

Their service is unique as it is a very short turn around to receiving a pdf file copy of your correspondence. Not the wait for physical mail to be forwarded and the inherent problems of a temporary address to receive it. But others may be copying their business model now.

After deciding to scan and/or forward you get an email informing you that a pfd copy of your correspondence is available on their secure website.

If it is a debit/credit card or check you can still have "the paper" forwarded. (With the help of Photo Editor [an Android app] I can comply with the endorsement rules of digital check deposits without holding the actual check.)

Some think it is a hassle to have their mail sent to Michigan instead of their domicile state, but it has never been a problem for me (other than explaining the process to another full-timer).

Just enter my box number, "15578", in the promo code box during checkout. You will get your first month of service free, and I will receive one month of service free also.

As to Amazon, they are adding Amazon locker locations and Amazon affiliate pick up locations all the time, like the Rite Aid in Blythe, CA.

But here is what I consider to be the biggest tip for full time nomads - Walmart!

Walmart wants to to compete with Amazon for online shopping, where this becomes interesting for nomads is - we can have it shipped to almost any Walmart, FOR FREE, they will hold it for us for 7 days (you know when your plans and your life aren't in sync), and if you want to spend as little time in Walmart as possible you can also do your in-store shopping on-line and pick it ALL up at the same time.

  1. I'm also testing physicaladdress.com to see how they compare.
